To Thine Self Be True
So it's a new year.
(And yes, this is typically late.)
I'm not in the habit of making resolutions. First of all, I get extremely stressed out if I don't achieve things and secondly, I don't really want to feel pressured into making any.
So in the true new year's spirit I will come up with vague notions of what I would like to see myself doing this year.
In no particular order.
- Drinking more green tea
- Stretching more - (I'm serious. I really don't want to be some old rickety person in 60 years.. I'm already nearly there. Rickety. not 40.)
- Running more (I need a reason to stretch, no?)
- Listening more to people
- Talking less
- Reading the Economist (as J says, it's extremely boring, but you know it's good for you.)
- Figuring out how to wear makeup without looking washed out / like a clown
- Sticking to goals
- Getting a job (see above)
We'll see how these things work out.
Ultimately I want one thing - balance. I think if I'm physically balanced, mentally things would be a bit clearer. And if they were clearer, perhaps they would be easier to achieve.
I'm writing this sitting in the same chair when I started my first blog, aged 14.
Almost 10 years later I see a shadow of my former self.
Let's hope I get the fire back.
